This website (inkwellchat.com) sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. The Inkwell app (app.inkwellchat.com) uses only a handful of strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and secure. That’s why you won’t see a cookie banner.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.
2. This website: no cookies
inkwellchat.com is a static page. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser’s local storage. We don’t use analytics, advertising, social media pixels or any other tracking.
Two third parties are involved in showing you the page, and neither sets cookies through it:
- Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) delivers the page and, like any web server, processes your IP address to do so and to protect the site from attacks.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces. Your browser fetches them from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. Google says it doesn’t use this to build profiles or set cookies.
More about this in our Privacy Policy.
3. The Inkwell app: strictly necessary cookies
When you log in at app.inkwellchat.com, we set the following first-party cookies. They’re only ever sent to app.inkwellchat.com, are marked HttpOnly (page scripts can’t read them), and are sent only over HTTPS.
| Cookie | What it does | How long | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
inkwell_session | Keeps you logged in to the dashboard. | 7 days | Strictly necessary |
inkwell_csrf | Protects your forms and actions from cross-site request forgery. | Until you close the browser | Strictly necessary |
inkwell_tg_nonce | Ties a Telegram login to the browser that started it, so a login can’t be replayed elsewhere. | 15 minutes | Strictly necessary |
inkwell_next | Remembers which page to open after you log in. | 15 minutes | Strictly necessary |
inkwell_flash | Shows a one-time confirmation after an action, such as “Saved”. | 60 seconds | Strictly necessary |
None of these cookies are used for analytics or advertising, and none are shared with anyone else.
4. Logging in with Telegram
The app’s login page loads Telegram’s login script from oauth.telegram.org, and logging in opens a Telegram window. Telegram may set its own cookies there. Those are controlled by Telegram and covered by Telegram’s Privacy Policy.
5. Why we don’t ask for consent
EU and UK law (the ePrivacy rules) require consent for cookies unless they are strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for. All of our cookies fall into that category: without them you couldn’t log in or use the dashboard safely. So there’s nothing to opt in to, and no banner.
We may add other cookies in the future, such as analytics. If we do, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
6. Controlling cookies
You can view and delete cookies in your browser’s settings at any time. If you block cookies for app.inkwellchat.com, you won’t be able to log in. Blocking cookies has no effect on this website, because it doesn’t set any.
7. Changes and contact
We’ll update this page when our use of cookies changes and show the new date at the top. Questions? Write to [email protected].
